As Jan pointed out: it's Barbara's turn to celebrate! She keeps such good track of all the important milestones in the club's evolution (our resident archivist and historian), that we couldn't let her own birthday pass without a glass of cava and a piece of cake! And I couldn't resist incuding, alongside the birthday girl herself, a picture of Rozemie's marvellous scarf. These photographs were taken at the last meeting, and it's hard to believe that it was a month ago - the time just flies! Our next meeting? Sunday 1 March from 14.00 to 18.00 in the Droge Coo. See you there!

Two different and utterly stylish approaches to keeping warm this winter. Barbara is modelling the most amazing Lopi jacket. Don't know what Lopi is? It's the wool from Icelandic sheep. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lopi. Knitted in a gorgeous, soft brown wool, with a yoke motif in slightly glittery gold, it's an absolute dream. And suits Barbara down to a T! Lucky Barbara was able to purchase it direct from the maker for a very good price - what a find and what a steal! More interesting and inspiring Lopi facts here: http://katedaviesdesigns.com/2014/12/08/lopi-band/
And Rozemie unpicked the sleeves from her jacket, opened them out flat and knitted new ones to size. Once inserted she had a brand new look that's both distinctive and original. Genius!

Those who attended the December meeting, saw me working on this project. The big question was, how to deal with running out of beige yarn. I took Rozemie's advice and finished the hat with a contrasting colour. The next day I crocheted all the additional bits: nose, snout, antlers, ears, eyes...
And a few days later my colleague, who loves Christmas-decorations, found himself quite jolly looking at the office:
Mission "Red Nose" accomplished :)
Yarns; leftover acrylics, mostly Wibra & Zeeman
Pattern: Red-Nosed Reindeer Hat by Crochet Cauldron

It's hard to believe that another year is almost over! Yesterday was our last meeting of 2014. Tea, coffee, gingerbread and peperkoek kept us warm and happy in the Villa Elise. Thanks Ines and Hendrik! They'll be warm hands, heads and hearts this winter: Ines' mitten are heavenly, and Rozemie's hat and mitten set, in powder blue with robins, is exquisite. And one lucky youngster will be both warm and jolly in Rozemie's ladybird hat. Great work ladies!
Check out the dates and times for 2015 and see you soon.
PS. Keep a look for new posts - I've got several photos up my sleeve for December.
